For your mortgage decision
Economic news can shift bond yields and mortgage pricing, but a single result does not determine your rate. The market reaction depends on expectations, revisions and the wider outlook.
Understand what moves mortgage rates →CPI, PCE, payrolls and unemployment help markets assess price pressures and the direction of monetary policy.
Sales, construction, retail spending and GDP provide context for demand and economic momentum.
Review your closing date, written lock terms and tolerance for payment changes before a major release. Future refinancing is not assured.
Release schedules come from BLS, BEA, Census and the Federal Reserve. Auction data comes from U.S. Treasury Fiscal Data. Historical indicators are distributed through FRED, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, with the original publisher identified for each series.
Schedules are checked after six hours. Indicator data and auction data are checked after one hour. An open page checks for updates every five minutes while visible. Publisher release delays, holidays, site traffic and caching can affect availability. This is not a real-time trading feed. When a source cannot refresh, the last successful update is labeled or an unavailable notice appears.
The reference period is the month, quarter or week being measured, not necessarily the release date. GDP and other historical data can be revised. An annualized housing pace is not the number of homes sold or started during one month. A scheduled event does not mean its numerical result is already available through FRED.
Initial jobless claims are included in historical indicators. This calendar does not infer future weekly claims dates or reproduce proprietary forecasts, MBA surveys, or consumer-sentiment data. Federal Reserve meeting dates are shown without an assumed release time. Confirm time-sensitive details with the original publisher.
